Blender Conference 2018, Amsterdam: The challenges of modern scientific illustration

This talk is a retrospective on 4 years of design and engineering for scientific visuals at Blue Brain Project. Revealing scientific digital data offers new possibilities, at the cost of higher technical complexity.

Through illustrations I created, this talk presents some of the challenges designers are likely to face in this relatively new domain.
